About..
The Department of Development Studies is a dynamic field of study concerned with social and economic change and the major policy challenges they present in the society.
Although the major focus is to study and understand  challenges to development and advancement in technology with an emphasis on developing countries, issues are discussed essentially  from a global perspective.

Description of Disciplines..
BA in Community Development..

1 The BA in Community Development  is designed to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to  empower individuals and groups of people by providing these groups with the skills they need to affect change in their own communities. Students are exposed to knowledge and skills that is required to transform their communities based on justice, equality and mutual respect

The curriculum is designed to expose students to a wide range of knowledge required to  change  the relationships between ordinary people and people in positions of power, so that everyone can take part in the issues that affect their lives.

1 Students in the programme  also acquire facilitation skills that can be used to help community people to  identify their resources and use them  creatively to achieve their desired goals and objectives.
1 Our programme is unrivaled in the country due to the way the curriculum is designed to give it the right perspective and content which is contextualized. Many of our graduates are working with both public and private sector organizations to bring people to act together and to foster social inclusion and equality.
