Rev. Mary Kinoti

The Child Development Programme has given me a chance to reflect, to look back, and to put forth visions of a better f u t u r e for our children. This programme inspires me with hope for a better future for the world’s children.  As a student in the programme, I now know that my role is to safeguard the future of our children by equipping them with the right values, knowledge, skills and abilities to play an active and positive role in shaping their own lives.

I am very grateful to Daystar University for starting this programme because it is equipping us with knowledge and skills to prepare children for the challenges and opportunities today through giving them the right knowledge and attributes to enable them succeed amidst a rapidly changing world. I know that the owner and creator of all children, hopeless, vulnerable as they may be is behind the programme. I can see the programme flourish in Daystar University, in Kenya and across the globe. Let us support Dr. Malinda daily in our prayers that God gives her the grace to enhance the kingdom of God here on earth, as it should be in heaven.

Martha Sunda: spending time with children.

My eyes are opening up to understand that children need one responsible and loving adult who is irrationally committed to his or her well-being. Children need a safe place for sleeping, playing, learning, working, and being; a healthy start and a healthy lifestyle; the chance to serve others; and the opportunity to learn life skills for adulthood and eternity.

I now know that my role extends to connecting children to the combination of these critical resources.

By so doing, I will be helping them to develop fully as competent, confident individuals with a strong sense of character and connection to their families, peers, and community and to God their father and maker. I thank God for the opportunity to study MA Child Development. Daystar University has truly given me a new mission for children: To positively impact the greatest number of young children holistically using interventions that are effective, and in ways that are sustainable.

I now know that children must learn the necessary skills and knowledge to be effective in building strong Christian societies. They must also learn the values and principles of character that build livable caring societies. Any society or community or family that ignores this dual set of needs—skills and knowledge alongside Christian values, ethics and principles of character—does so at its own peril, and to the detriment of their children.

Today, we are faced with daily incidences of moral and social decay, manifested through incest, rape, murder, abortion, child sexual abuse, drug abuse, pornography, and corruption among other vices." My studies in Child Development are opening my eyes and intellect to understand that studying Child Development can provide lasting solutions to many problems facing our children today”.

Ms. Nungari :

Studying Child Development discipline at Daystar University is helping me in my work with children to increase my effectiveness, scale, and sustainability of proven approaches to meeting children needs holistically. The Child Development Programme is striving to give us  this complete instruction to enable us model best practices and impact in the lives of children spiritually, socially and cognitively.

Let us all give our full support to the Programme, and offer daily prayers to the programme staff and to Dr. Malinda that God gives her the Wisdom of Solomon and strength to grow the programme for the glory and for the kingdom of God."

Our child development course is very unique in quite invaluable. It is focused on the student as a leader in children's ministry who is constantly growing and maturing in his or her walk with the Lord and with children. The course examines biblical principles for leadership and the personal qualities essential for a good leader who is a shepherd to children.  Through programme, students gain insights into the behavioral patterns that shape their leadership styles for effective work with children.

In addition, emphasis is placed on interpersonal relationships, programme management and communication skills necessary for effective ministry with children. This course is a must to all those who wish and hunger to enable children to enter the kingdom of God which is prepared for them.
